How Smart is Your Food
Project Based Learning Activity

We would like to promote local wellness and healthy eating through your eyes. The new recipes may not be your favorite but what can you really do about it? How about creating a meal that includes healthy recipes that are USDA approved and that you would like?! Your team will select four healthy recipes from USDA Recipes for Schools - 1 entree, 2 side dishes and 1 dessert. Each team will present the meal along with calculated amounts of supplies and total nutrients using a PowerPoint or Flipchart. The attendees of the event will vote for their favorite suggested meal.

Big Question: How can math be used to plan and host a Smart Food = Smart Kids event to promote local wellness and healthy eating?
